Introduction

She graduated from the University of Mississippi with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/English along with receiving her Specialist in Education degree with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from Murray State University. Chanella provides culturally-competent individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach is from cognitive behavioral therapy that assists in identifying, challenging, and replacing negative self talk with more desirable thoughts. Chanella also has advanced training in behavior analysis which assists in reducing problematic behaviors in children and adolescents and increasing more socially desirable behaviors to improve their overall quality of life. Chanella describes her therapeutic approach as warm, empathic, accepting, and honest. She strives to understand her clients within their social, developmental, and cultural contexts and utilizes individualized treatment plans too build on strengths and promote positive identity development. It’s a staple to consult with other providers while advocating for the clients' needs/rights within the practice.
