I have a Master's degree in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and over a decade of experience as a talk and art therapist for people across the lifespan. I incorporate compassion, humor, and genuineness into the work. I am currently offering individual therapy for adults 18+ in my private practice. I particularly enjoy working with clients trying to manage life in the face of depression, anxiety, trauma histories, or life transitions. I am trained and experienced in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and several models of trauma-informed treatment. My most special niche, however, is my training as an art therapist. Using art to assist processing can help explore presenting issues and experiences without the need to find the words first. Ironically, taking this approach can often help clients better verbalize and process their emotional experiences in the long run. I approach therapy with great respect for the whole person, admiring willingness to be vulnerable in an effort towards self-improvement, and I feel honored to be a witness of growth. I hope clients can ultimately take away from sessions a combination of acceptance and change. I will work with people to accept their challenges as they are and to develop practical daily skills to better manage them.
