Introduction

I have worked with adolescents and adults in individual, group, and family therapy settings. My scope of practice includes a wide range of issues such as (but not limited to) interpersonal trauma, complex trauma, cultural/identity based trauma, gender confirmation, substance addiction, process addiction, intimate partner violence, grief, divorce, sexual violence, depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, co-occurring disorders, dual diagnosis, self-harm behaviors, and relationship concerns. I practice an integrative approach by conceptualizing with the modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Feminist and Multicultural Theory, while relying heavily on trauma-informed therapies. After meeting in person, you and I can collaborate to decide together what will be the most effective interventions to utilize, given where you are presently and where you want to go. Professionally, my experience has included working with survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence and sexual assault through a non-profit agency, a residential treatment facility for complex trauma and severe addiction, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for dual diagnosis. While I have the training and education needed to address your presenting concerns, I believe you are the expert of your life and have no intention of telling you what to do. I will listen intently and respect your autonomy to learn how you define and create safety for yourself. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most empowering tools we can utilize. Therefore, my hope is that we can create a relationship where we can both be transparent with our thoughts and reactions, providing feedback to one another. My personal area of advocacy lies in prevention and intervention of family violence, promoting woman’s rights, challenging racism, empowering sexual minorities and gender non-conforming individuals, and exposing injustice. I have to credit and thank my past and present clients for gifting me the experience of sharing in their therapeutic journey. It is a true privilege to be trusted to join someone in their personal growth and development. I admire the strength and courage of all my clients, to embrace this process, even when it can feel uncomfortable at times. It is walking with each of them down their own path that motivates me to dedicate my time and energy outside of the therapy room to fighting for the rights of others to be treated justly and with dignity.
