"Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."—Viktor Frankl Change is possible for everyone. We can learn new skillsets for challenging situations. We can look at seemingly hopeless circumstances from another perspective. We can apply our strengths and abilities in new ways. We can gain a feeling of peace from acceptance. I feel honored to join my clients as they accept the quest for change. These efforts come from three therapeutic approaches; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solutions Focused Therapy. I am excited to offer specialty interventions for Misophonia. Misophonia is a disorder that manifests as pain, anger, disgust, and anxiety in response to trigger sounds and responses such as attempts to stop the trigger, escape it, or mimic it. These responses are most prominent and emphatic in children with Misophonia but sufferers experience this disorder for life. This is an emerging field in clinical mental health counseling and I have a passion for providing the latest evidence based interventions. I also have experience working with ages 12 years old and up on anxiety, depression, postpartum and seasonal depression, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, physical manifestations of stress, schizophrenia, and suicidal ideation. I believe in having a powerful team mindset with my clients to achieve therapeutic goals and look forward to providing caring counseling.
