Introduction

After years of exploring my options for a career, I graduated with my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013. It is a passion of mine and I consider it a privilege to get to walk alongside people, help them make sense of themselves and the world around them, and offer support in a variety of ways. I believe that my office is a safe place to land when you feel unsteady, unstable and unsure. I love to help couples and families work through hurt and discover ways to move forward. I love to provide safe space to be honest and raw. I love to help people learn to communicate in healthy ways, set boundaries and gain health in their relationships. I also love to help clients understand the physiological and neurobiological aspects of mental health. Being able to gain language for what they are experiencing tends to provide relief all on its own. Being a marriage and family therapist means that I'm trained to think systemically and I love to bring that training into my work with clients, whether I'm working with an individual, a couple or a family. It's so helpful to understand how a family system is contributing to or maintaining unhealthy dynamics and help them break out of those cycles. It can also be so helpful in understanding how our parents relate to us when we look at the system in which they grew up. I often jokingly say, "I'm the mommest mom who ever mommed." I am a nurturer and I bring that side of me into my work with clients and supervisees. I love to support, encourage and develop clients as well as newer clinicians. If you feel like you connect with what you're reading here, reach out and let's talk. I'd love to explore whether we'd be a good fit.
