Introduction

All humans experience various transitional times during their lives. These times can be amazing and filled with so much happiness and hope, or they can be unbearable and blanket us in emotions we have no idea how to experience. It helps to have someone who can guide you through the emotions you are unsure of in an empathetic and nonjudgemental way. Grief and trauma are two of my most beloved specialty areas. Trauma doesn't have to be big events that have happened. Trauma can be the smaller events that have left a lasting impact on you in a negative way. I have been through EMDR certification and have used this modality for years and fully believe in it. I have been using EMDR with grief work as well and find it can be a powerful experience in growth. I believe death is a transition into another part of our experience and does not have to be unbearable. I work with those experiencing grief in a manner that allows respect for the deceased and sadness to still be experienced. Sadness is okay, I just want you to be able to manage it and learn to live with the feeling rather than get rid of it. Maybe you are experiencing mental health symptoms that you have not wanted to share with anyone else because you know you'll sound "crazy" or you have a place in the community where you can't be open about them? I can tell you, you aren't "crazy" and it's amazing how many severe seeming symptoms aren't what you think they are. If it happens to be what you think it is, that's okay too. We will lean into acceptance and understanding together. I understand symptoms associated with psychotic disorders and have a very calm and validating approach to helping you deal with them. You made it this far, you are searching for help. Maybe you've been thinking about requesting an appointment for days or weeks. You will not regret beginning the process of healing. Feel free to message me. If we find we aren't a great fit, I'd be happy to help you find someone who is. I am also a first responder/military spouse. I understand the complexities involved in the family life of both of those very difficult career paths and the way they can effect family dynamics.
