Caryn Attianese is the owner of Empowerment Treatment & Counseling (ETC). I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues. I use my professional and personal experience with eating disorders and trauma to connect with others. Using the Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, attachment based therapy, inner child work and Emotionally Focused Therapy, I enjoy assisting clients in uncovering their core issues and supporting them in feeling uncomfortable emotions. I am a nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of MO and AZ. I have worked as a clinician, trainer, and supervisor at industry leading treatment centers. I also am a certified supervisor for associate level counselors and those seeking their CEDS credentials. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Missouri Eating Disorder Association (MOEDA), and International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) where I served as the Chapter President of the Phoenix Chapter. I also enjoy teaching as an adjunct faculty for the Masters in Counseling program at Grand Canyon University. Prior to entering the mental health arena in 2001, I worked as an elementary school teacher, as teaching has always been one of my passions. I have used this talent to speak at various conferences and events. I bring my sense of humor, excitement, and motivation to communicate my compassion, knowledge, and encouragement with clients and professionals.
