I have a strong desire to help others work through challenges and difficulties. There is such a stigma attached to acknowledging and admitting that we may be having issues with our mental health that I would like to be a source of help. Doing this work also means there is the potential to help these individuals work through their challenges and difficulties, which could improve their quality of life. I have the ability to simplify complex issues and I understand to be an effective clinician one of the most important elements in the client-patient relationship is building a good rapport. I believe that there must be consistency in everything that you do as a professional. It is easier to develop a more nuanced understanding of your client's issues if consistency is always a priority. I also believe a strong working relationship requires trust, respect, self-awareness, inclusion, and open communication.
