Dr. Carolina Montalvo is a licensed clinical psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Nova Southeastern University. She is fully licensed to practice in New York, Florida, and California, and is PSYPACT certified, allowing her to offer telehealth services to clients located in participating PSYPACT states. She works with individuals navigating a range of concerns, with a focus on mood disorders (including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder), trauma and PTSD, and burnout. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, blending cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She helps clients explore how their thoughts, beliefs, and past experiences shape their present lives, while building effective tools to enhance emotional regulation, challenge unhelpful patterns, and live with greater authenticity and purpose. At the heart of Dr. Montalvo’s work is a commitment to cultivating presence, insight, and self-compassion. She creates a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported in exploring even the most vulnerable parts of themselves. Her use of mindfulness helps clients become more attuned to their inner experience, while compassion-based strategies foster resilience and healing from within. In addition to traditional psychotherapy, Dr. Montalvo has completed advanced training in psychedelic integration through Fluence, MDMA-assisted therapy with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) at Polaris. Since 2021, she has administered KAP sessions to a wide range of clients, finding ketamine to be particularly effective when other treatments have fallen short. She is often described by clients as deeply empathetic, highly attuned, and genuinely invested in their growth and healing. Dr. Montalvo is currently accepting adult clients for individual therapy and KAP in New York City, NY and Miami, FL, and via telehealth in California and PSYPACT states.
