I've been walking alongside teens and young adults for a while now. I've worked in general and special education in public school systems, in the foster care system (both family-based and residential placement) and in juvenile detention. Now, I have a small private practice where I can focus on clients without rush or pressure, and offer support that some folks might be challenged to find. I'm trained as a clinical social worker, so I come from a perspective of connection. I see a world where we influence, and are influenced by, the systems we live in, the systems that live in us, and the systems we interact with. It's a holistic approach to how we are in our worlds. I'm more interested in what makes us well than what might be labeled as "disordered." From my perspective, what gets labeled as "disordered" is generally rational behavior in the fact of irrational experiences. You'll find that I am pretty non-judgmental. I offer you a safe space, I speak my truth (without imposing my truth on you), I am authentic and trustworthy. I'm a good listener. My own life path hasn't been all that straight. I'm happy to share the things I've discovered along the way if you're interested. Whether you decide to work with me or not, I invite you to check out my website. I try hard to keep it filled with websites, links, apps and articles that I hope are helpful. You might find something that speaks to you.
