Hi! My name is Carla Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I am a mental health therapist who finds joy in seeing others grow and overcome challenges; I see the good in others and love to help people who seek my counseling services. I am fluent in Spanish and consider myself bicultural. I enjoy being involved in the community and making a difference. I have a passion for assisting and empowering others. I enjoy providing therapy services to teens and adults. I believe in constant growth and learning from past experiences. I have lived in Texas, California, Mexico, and North Carolina and my experiences there made me realize the importance of respecting others and appreciating diversity. I take pleasure in attending conferences and workshops because I want to provide the best therapy I can. The counseling theories that resonate with me are Existential Theory, Reality Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I had the pleasure of teaching elementary school students in Charlotte, NC and Austin, TX. While I was teaching, I attended Texas State University to earn a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling. I enjoyed working with students, parents, and the community in Round Rock, Texas, where I was employed as a School Counselor. After moving to the Houston area, I worked as a Clinical Therapist at a Psychiatric Outpatient Hospital and later at a counseling private practice as a Mental Health Therapist. I now own and operate Calderas Counseling. I look forward to working with you and help you be your best self!
