Introduction

Hello! I’m Cara Floyd, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Child Mental Health Specialist, and owner of Harmonious Family Therapy. I work with children of all ages, adults, parents, and families of diverse backgrounds and needs. I am passionate about the work I do and about helping others through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I specialize in the areas of anxiety, depression, ADHD, challenging behaviors, trauma, parenting, and family communication and relationships. My therapeutic approach is evidence based.  I am trained and certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Helping the Non-Compliant Child with Emotion Coaching. Additionally I am a certified neuroscience-informed therapist. I earned my masters degree in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle in 2015 and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Central Washington University in 2001. I have extensive experience spanning over 15 years of helping individuals and families in a variety of therapeutic settings including a residential home, a day treatment center for abused, neglected, and drug affected children, as well as at a community mental health agency. On my free time, I enjoy traveling, camping, exploring the pacific northwest, supporting our local sports teams (Sounders, Seahawks, The Kraken, and Silvertips), and spending time with my amazing blended family.
