It's is all about the relationship and I have experience helping a people overcome relationship issues, family conflicts, grief and loss, emotional dysregulation, substance misuse, adjustment/stress disorders, as well as, just the general strain of being human. My background in neurobehavior allows me to help you understand how thoughts and emotions impact behavior and what goes on in the brain. I specialize in treating first responders and their families and I understand the unique culture that comes with being in the line of duty day in and day out. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, because there isn’t one method or style that works for every client. I have found that a combination of strength based strategies and techniques from theories like Biblical Counseling, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Humanistic Theory, and Experiential/Communication models to be very effective. The counseling experience is meant to bring real life applications that clients and families can use outside the therapy room. Counseling is about the bond we form together. “It’s the relationship that heals,” (Yalom, p. 112 of Love’s Executioner). The best measure of therapeutic outcome is the therapeutic relationship we develop together and I would be honored to be part of your journey and get to know you, the real you. ___________________________________________________________ If you feel you or someone you know are in a crisis or danger, call 9-1-1 right away or visit a local emergency room.
