For many years, I have worked with children and adults through different capacities. I began by earning a Bachelor of Arts from Houston Baptist University in Psychology and Child Development. While attending HBU I became a leader of two mission teams based in the 5th ward of Houston, working with children and families. I then went on to complete my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Southern Methodist University. I have since been a therapist for a Child's Advocacy Center working with children who have experienced abuse and trauma, the Social and Emotional Program Specialist at a local non profit preschool, Small Steps Nurturing Center and a counselor at Nick Finnegan Counseling Center working with children and adults. As a part of my education and license, I have attended trainings in play therapy/play group therapy, trauma and crisis therapy. I am also a board certified Supervisor for Licensed Professional Counselors and fully trained EMDR clinician. (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
