Introduction

After serving as a medic with the U.S. Airforce & completing my bachelors in nursing, the plan was to finish as a MD. In 2020, 8 service members that I’ve known through the years committed suicide. One is too many, 8… is unacceptable. As far back as I can remember, I have wanted to be a therapist & this was the push that I needed. Now, I can happily say that I am accepting new clients! My interest and focus does not rest in defined diagnoses. Rather, it lies in the people that I see. I aim to help anyone who is struggling and who wants help. Help understanding, help seeing another perspective or dimension, help learning and/or practicing new perceptions or behaviors, help healing, help growing, or help in reaching their full potential. I do not see therapy as a one-dimensional place where a person goes to only talk about their feelings. It can... be if this is what you want and need it to be. However, I see it as more than that. I see it as a safe place for people to understand themselves, unburden, heal, and morph themselves- all on their own terms. I see the therapeutic relationship and each session as a place without judgment, negative consequence, or punishment. With me, you will be treated with respect, acceptance, and kindness. I have an integrative and holistic approach to therapy and employ a variety of therapies (cognitive-behavioral, rational-emotive, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment, solution-based, reality, etc.) during sessions, which are tailored to each client’s unique situation. I have experience aiding the mental health journey of people struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, dissociative identity disorder (DID), borderline personality disorder (BPD), addiction, life transitions, those in the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, first-generation Americans of immigrant families, & more. Additionally, I offer personality and mood disorder assessments or screenings for those unsure of what they are struggling with and would like a diagnostic answer. I'm just a mother of 5 boys with a dog and a garden... and a dream to help as many people as I can.
