I am a licensed clinical social worker who has dedicated the past 15 years to working in medical social work. My areas of expertise include breast cancer, women's cancers, oncology, solid organ transplant, chronic, serious, and life-limiting illnesses. I recently founded Compassionate Integrative Counseling to bring support, understanding, and healing to those living with or impacted by chronic and serious illnesses. Compassionate Integrative Counseling is proud to have a team of licensed clinical social workers specializing in working with clients and families facing serious and life-limiting illnesses I offer individual therapy, caregiver support, healthcare navigation, and family consultations. In addition, my background in child and adolescent development serves those seeking guidance on how to talk with children about serious illnesses. I also enjoy and am honored to provide clinical supervision to those working toward licensure. My approach to clinical therapy is rooted in an authentic and meaningful connection to self and others. My practice often includes helping clients cultivate the innate wisdom the body holds that can help restore balance in difficult times. My approach also allows clients to safely explore their relationship with fear, uncertainty, control, grief and loss, and undoubtedly hope. My style is warm, compassionate, honest, and direct. I am known for my authenticity and use of humor in my work. My practice is client-centered, solution-focused, and anchored in a strengths-based approach, drawing on an individual's inner resources. I uniquely weave concepts and threads from Trauma-Focused, Humanistic, Grief, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is a cornerstone of my work with many clients. My goal and that of Compassionate Integrative Counseling is to help clients feel understood, less isolated, empowered, and safely able to examine the lessons that illness has to offer us. By putting more pieces of this puzzle we call life together, I am certain that meaningful change, connection, and balance are possible.
