I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and families. Although I am trained in many treatment modalities, I utilize an eclectic approach tailored to specific needs of every client. My formative years were spent in Georgia where I grew up; during my last year as an adolescent, I moved to NYC to attend college; during early motherhood, I returned to GA to be closer to my family and currently reside in the East Bay area. From the years of personal and professional experiences from three different regions: the South; Northeast and West, I learned we are more alike than different. What binds us is a psychological need for validation; sense of internal/external competency; belief in our own autonomy; and emotional connection to others. I value every person’s right to self-determination and to be treated with respect no matter where you are in your stage of motivation or circumstances. Since I follow the person-in-environment framework, I will support you on your individual growth as well as help you to strengthen and connect with various systems in your life. I obtained my undergraduate (Bachelor of Science) and graduate (Masters in Social Work) degrees from New York University (NYU).
