Introduction

I am a Licensed Psychologist in Houston Texas with expertise in anxiety and trauma-related disorders. I have 8 years experience in an academic medical center as a staff psychologist and assistant professor, where I provided direct clinical care to Veterans with co-occurring anxiety disorders and PTSD, was a co-investigator and lead therapist on several grant-funded anxiety treatment research studies, supervised and trained predoctoral psychology interns and postdoctoral psychology residents, and provided trainings and consultation to other healthcare providers on topics such as anxiety and trauma disorder assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. In my private practice, I provide evidence-based psychotherapy for issues such as excessive and uncontrollable worry, intrusive thoughts and memories, panic attacks, and fear and avoidance of situations, places, people, and objects. These issues can significantly impact people's daily functioning, relationships, and overall quality of life. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral and interpersonal interventions, which means I assist people in changing patterns of thinking, behaving, and interacting in order to change how they are feeling. This is different than just lending a listening ear or helping people reduce their anxiety in the moment it occurs; I actively collaborate with people to understand what keeps their anxiety going and apply strategies to disrupt the cycle, so they can live life according to what matters to them and not according to their anxiety. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your goals and how therapy can help. Please contact me for a free 15-minute consultation.
