Introduction

I am a pre-licensed therapist under the supervision of Steve May (lic#2005006924). My passion lies in assisting individuals in rediscovering their center and living authentically from that space. Life's challenges can easily divert us from what truly matters, causing a loss of self and disconnect from our values. Past experiences may linger, hindering us from becoming the person we aspire to be. Whether grappling with feelings of meaninglessness, struggling in relationships, or facing the various challenges of contemporary life, counseling frequently proves to be a valuable resource. In my counseling practice, my aim is to help clients live the kind of life they wish to live and be the kind of person they aim to be. Whether it's resolving issues from the past, improving relationships, dealing with divorce, grief, loss, or being stuck in toxic circumstances, I am here to help. I have a particular passion for supporting individuals who have experienced cultic, spiritual, or religious abuse. Often, these individuals have departed from strict religions, organizations, or groups marked by oppressive beliefs, controlling social structures, and demanding authority figures. The process of leaving such groups can span years, involving not only physical disengagement but also severing family ties, financial support, community networks, and occupational opportunities. Yet, the challenge goes beyond the physical separation. It extends to unraveling the deep-seated and multi-layered levels of indoctrination, manipulation, and coercive control. I recognize that the journey towards healing from cultic and spiritual abuse is profoundly personal and requires immense courage. Having navigated such a journey myself, I comprehend the complexities involved in extricating oneself from this intricate web of confusion. In my counseling services, I strive to create a specifically tailored and compassionate space that empowers your ongoing recovery. My Approach My approach to counseling is practical. In a typical session, I am looking for ways to support and help my clients to achieve their intended goals for therapy. This may involve processing difficult and uncomfortable emotions, resolving issues of the past, learning to face current challenges, and navigating complex relationships. Therapy sessions are not passive events. They entail work and effort on both the part of the therapist and the client. My goal as a therapist is to establish a supportive, non-judgmental space that fosters a sense of safety for you to explore and address the issues that matter to you. Rates My rates are $100 (50 mins) and $150 (80 mins.). Sliding scale is available for those who can not regularly and comfortably pay for the above rates. Contact Me Today If you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward for the opportunity to work with you.
