Introduction

I'm so glad you're here! At A New Thing Counseling, we're all about taking that first step toward meaningful change. Here's a little bit of information on how we can begin the process together. THE GUIDING PRINCIPLE We all share in the human experience of facing challenges and navigating through unresolved pain. Sometimes, we develop unconscious core beliefs that shape how we respond to life, often leading to stress, strained relationships, fear, and shame. The stories we tell ourselves-whether they reflect our wounds, our defenses, or our true selves-impact how we live. But we can choose to tell our story, one the includes our imperfections, the hope of the Gospel, and our authentic, unchanging identity. I firmly believe that people aren't problems to be fixed; rather, they are souls to be seen, heard, and understood. As Isaiah 43:19 says, "See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." This guiding principle shapes my approach to counseling, where I believe that God is actively at work in us and around us. We can explore and engage with the faith aspect of your journey with kindness and care. I understand how overwhelming it can be to seek support. It can feel intimidating at first, but together, we can take small steps that lead to meaningful change over time. Let's work on telling your true story-honestly and gently. Are you ready to begin this journey? I am here to walk alongside you. WHO I WORK WITH I work with women ages 20 and older who are motivated, self aware, and ready to invest in their personal growth through counseling. I aim to help you develop compassionate curiosity to identify and understand painful patterns, uncover how your past may be influencing your present, and learn how your nervous system can support you in moving through pain. Together, we will explore core beliefs that may be limiting your growth and explore new beliefs that can guide you toward healthier, more fulfilling paths. My approach to counseling is integrative, addressing all parts of your humanity-mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Together, we'll create strategies, rhythms, and tools to empower you to make authentic healthy choices for yourself and your relationships. PRACTICE DETAILS Appointments: I offer both in-person and virtual sessions Insurance: I am considered out of network for insurance purposes. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to learn more about your out-of-pocket costs. I'm happy to provide you a super bill for reimbursement. A LITTLE ABOUT ME I hold a bachelor's degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a Masters degree in counseling from the University of Oklahoma. With 18 years of experience, I've worked in various settings, including medical hospitals, group practices, and churches. Each experience has contributed to my growth as a therapist. I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with loved ones, and trying new things to refuel my own spirit. WHAT'S NEXT? By considering counseling, you've already taken an important first step. The next step is to request a 15 minute video or phone consultation, where we'll both get to know each other better. After that, we'll schedule a formal intake session to dive deeper and explore the changes you want to make. To get started, simply click the "Request an Appointment" button or send me an email. I'm excited to partner with you on this journey of growth and transformation!
