Introduction

I know that deciding whether or not to attend therapy is a hard decision. Who wants to come to a stranger and tell them about some of the most vulnerable parts of yourself? So despite that feeling, I would encourage you to attend a session with a trained professional because I believe anyone can benefit from talking to a person who is there to listen and provide you with a safe environment. Mental Health is a real thing. Sadly mental health in our area is not always treated as seriously as it should be. No one should have to struggle to get out of bed in the morning, be worried all the time, feel like they will never be happy again, or not be able to maintain a relationship or job because their mood fluctuates so much. What have you got to lose if you are already unhappy? I don’t have a magic wand to wave, but my experience has shown me that by working on the issues together you can begin to see some improvements in your life. I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. During that time I have helped people who are experiencing problems with relationships, grief, addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD, job loss, and other related mental health issues and life stressors. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (an evidenced based treatment), which is designed to explore the connection between a person’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I also have experience with Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness based strategies.
