I work with adolescents who struggle with symptoms of anxiety, depression, problems with peers, difficulty coping with life transitions and a variety of school-related issues that interfere with functioning as their best selves. Together, we problem solve, develop healthy coping skills to manage difficult emotions, tackle low self esteem and self-worth, strengthen effective communication strategies and improve ways to navigate difficult social situations. I have extensive experience working in a number of diverse settings including schools, inpatient psychiatric hospitals and partial hospital day programs. I use several evidence-based treatment modalities to inform my practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Strengths-Based Practice. My therapeutic style is built upon curiosity and understanding, compassion and encouragement, with a degree of humor and without judgment. I form trusting therapeutic relationships that foster meaningful growth and lead to lasting change.
