As a therapist, I want to help you live in congruence with your values, motivate you toward goals & empower you to live life authentically, progressing through difficult hardships, thoughts & emotions that may challenge this while somatically being mindful of the mind-body connection. In my 10 years within the mental health field, I have developed a holistic and person-centered therapy approach to facilitate growth & self-discovery to create balance and stability in your lifestyle, while exploring the foundation of unhealthy patterns from adverse life experiences. This often includes adapting power and control dynamics within one’s lifestyle, fostering of self-awareness, development of interpersonal boundaries, and honest, vulnerable dialogue while we take an introspective look with therapeutic purpose. My interests include working with clients within the age range of late adolescence (17+) through adulthood. Education and Background: I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Psychology from Michigan State University and then continued my graduate studies at the University of Michigan where I obtained a Master’s of Social Work. Additionally, I am certified in Integrative Primary Care & Behavioral Health after completion of this specialty program at the University of Michigan. I am a fully licensed clinical social worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan and in good standing with the regulation boards. My history of experience includes working with children, adolescents & adults in crisis within a hospital setting through facilitation of interdisciplinary treatment planning, group therapy, psychosocial assessments, family support integration, safety plan development, substance abuse treatment & collaboration with community resources. I’ve been involved in criminal justice research involving at-risk youth exploring criminal offenses in connection to adverse life experiences, poverty, mental health & trauma.
