I hold a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My undergraduate degree is in Family Studies from Western Michigan University. I am licensed in the State of Michigan as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My areas of speciality include infertility, pregnancy and pregnancy loss, postpartum issues, early childhood mental health, attachment & bonding, play therapy, child & adolescent mental health, anxiety, & depression. I work from an Existential/Person Centered philosophy that focuses on creating meaning in one's life, responsibility and the ability to express oneself in a healthy way. I have infant mental health level II certification in Michigan as well as extensive training in a variety of play therapy modalities. Additionally, I am trained in crisis intervention & suicide intervention & prevention. I am passionate about providing counseling to individuals and couples struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss as well. My office is set up to provide play therapy through sand tray, art and play for young people and space for traditional talk therapy. I use a multi-modal approach to counseling while relying on research for guidance in integrating an array of therapeutic techniques that best serve the individual.
