Introduction

Brie Chang (she, her) is a licensed clinical social worker in Washington state. Brie uses integrative psychotherapy to address affective, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological systems within a person. Talk is used to increase self-awareness and acceptance through focus on conscious thoughts where client learns to articulate thoughts that keep them from achieving their goals. Interventions are have an emphasis on somatic embodiment, lived experience, and recognition of the human condition in all its complexity. Brie’s theoretical orientation draws from cognitive neuropsychology, clinical bodywork, nursing science, existential-phenomenology, metaphysics (Abrahamic religions, Zen Buddhism, Chinese internal alchemy, Druidic traditions), and intersectional feminism. Brie’s orientation questions and challenges prevailing social, cultural, religious, and economic narratives while reconnecting with inner strength, ancestral wisdom, holistic perspectives, and personal values. Brie is also a PhD student at the University of Washington with a research interest in psychosomatic and mindfulness based treatments.
