As someone that has sat in both the therapist and the client chair, I am aware of how difficult it is to take the first steps to enter into a therapeutic relationship. As your counselor, my goal is to provide a supportive environment that makes this process just a little bit easier for your or your child. Over the last ten years I have worked in agency settings focused on treating those impacted by trauma, including domestic violence, medical trauma/chronic illness, and sexual abuse. I work with clients as young as four, utilizing play therapy techniques. I am also currently certified in EMDR to treat both adults and children. In therapy we may explore how earlier experiences have shaped the person you are, help you overcome current struggles, and help prepare you to face life's future challenges. I believe that by respecting your experiences, increasing a sense of felt safety, and increasing your ability to cope, true healing can happen.
