Introduction

Hello, my name is Brian and I am owner/therapist at Lightwell Therapy. Being human is a complex experience, and I have spent my life working to better understand myself and those I work with. My passion has always been people and I strive to learn more about what makes us tick. As a human myself, I know first-hand that all of us at one time or another get stuck in patterns of thoughts, moods, behaviors, and relationships that are difficult to navigate without help. Sometimes these sticking points can be debilitating and we cannot solve it without support and a fresh perspective. I'm no different - I go to therapy, too! - and this is why I know with the right support, there is no problem that can't be made better in some way. I am trained and continue to develop expertise in a variety of science-proven, evidenced based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT). Simply, these skills help us identify and react to those those thoughts, moods, and behaviors that keep us stuck and gently move us towards a more fulfilling, purpose-driven life. Please reach out to me if you're curious about psychotherapy. I have worked with people from all walks of life and maintain that my first and foremost responsibility is to give you a safe place to explore what's going on. I work with women, men, people who identify as LGBTQ+, people experiencing substance use/addiction, and others. I can't help everyone, and if you have an issue outside of my specialty scope, I have many trusted colleagues who I can likely refer you to. Let me know if you have any questions, and kudos to you on taking the first step towards a better life!
