Helping people who seek healing and self-improvement has been the focus of my professional life. Much of my work has been with individuals trying to deal with challenges related to conditions such as anxiety, depression and ADHD. I also have considerable experience helping parents, especially those whose children have disabilities of all kinds. My approach is eclectic. It begins with learning about you (e.g., your feelings, thoughts/beliefs, actions, life experiences, stage of life & health). I also consider other factors that influence your well-being (e.g., family, relationships, work, societal pressures). Our work together would emphasize improving your well-being by increasing your understanding, coping, and problem-solving skills. Often, that is done by building on strengths and resources you might not realize that you have. Building and maintaining a hopeful outlook is also an important part of the process. I strive to listen well and to be compassionate and encouraging. I’ve also been known to use humor from time to time because I believe that some “Ha-ha!” moments can become “Ah-hah!” moments. Plus, a smile or laugh can make you feel better. If you think we might work well together, please email me to arrange an initial free consultation.
