Introduction

My journey as therapist started long before I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in psychology. One thing that I have always had the knack for, Is seeing the potential in people and situations. If you ask any of my current clients, the reason they keep on coming back is because of my uncanny ability to see the beyond the outdated narratives into a whole new realm of possibilities. It brings me great joy to see people grow past their trauma and live to their full potential. As a therapist, the most powerful gift that I have to offer is the ability to see beyond what is and what appears to be, and a passion to turn that new reality into attainable goals. My actual journey as a therapist started through my own healing. I come from a family that was plagued with abuse and addiction, which resulted in my own experiences with complex trauma. I made it my life’s work to understand the cycle of abuse, intergenerational trauma, the physiological and emotional implications of trauma and to understand what it really means to heal. This path led me to exploring both traditional and somatic approaches. It is my belief that both play an integral part in healing. The traditional (top down) talk therapy approach brings awareness to your conscious experience and allows you the power of understanding and choice, while the somatic (bottom up) approach brings awareness to physical symptoms and sensations; allowing you to make sense of what your body is trying to communicate to you. One of my core values as a therapist, a proud member of the LGBTQ community and a human is community; specifically, the respect for the rights, differences, and dignity of all beings. I firmly believe that we all have the right to feel safe and calm in our own body and mind. I believe in the healing power of social support. As a therapist, I feel that it is not only my job to walk beside you in your healing journey but to also encourage you and help empower you along the way. No one should have to face it alone when there is help out there from someone who has traveled down that road before. I encourage you to take the first step toward your new life and schedule a consultation today.
