I find personal fulfillment in being a small part of someone else’s journey. I know what it is like to struggle with loneliness, intrusive thoughts, and doing anything to fill that void just for a moment. I spent years battling my own challenges on my own before I found a therapist who helped me to expand my perspective, reshape my narrative, and live the life I always wanted. I became a therapist because I wanted to pay it forward; to be that person who can challenge your narrative, to be a part of your healing journey, and to help you to be your favorite version of yourself. To be at our best, I believe we have to find the parts of life that give us purpose; the answers to the question: "Why?". This is when I tell you to put on your explorer hat and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime and more specifically, your life. We'll do some time traveling to make connections between your current experiences and your past experiences to find patterns that have held you back in relationships, in your career, and/or in your overall life satisfaction. I surely hope you are bringing a satchel on this expedition as I will be providing you with a bunch of tools to overcome these patterns and daily life stressors. We'll discover which conversations you're avoiding and the risks you are not taking while also triumphantly acknowledging all you have already overcome and discovered before I was invited to join this exploration party. Together, we will discover what your Everest is, create the map for your journey, and fill your satchel with the tools needed for this adventure of a lifetime. I work alongside Harley, who is my certified therapy dog. Harley and I have spent the past four years providing animal-assisted therapy in private practice as well as the school system and have been on the front lines of what has been a mental health crisis. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy and incorporate my wellness experiences and mindfulness techniques as well as counseling theories such as existential therapy, attachment-based, family systems, narrative therapy, Gestalt, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I am always staying up-to-date on the newest research about how to get the most out of our neurotransmitters to feel our best in a natural way. Harley and I specialize in family dynamics/high-conflict divorce, parent-coaching, suicidal ideation, neurodiversity including autism and highly sensitive people, anxiety/panic attacks, trauma including child abuse and domestic violence, work and school struggles, relationships/break-ups, caregivers (compassion fatigue), self-worth, career exploration, and athletics/performance mindset. I look at myself as a Sherpa helping to guide you on your personal journey to your Everest, whatever that may be. When I am not working, you can find me outdoors with Harley, my girlfriend Timi, and her pup Togo. I also enjoy training at the gym, running/hiking, training for ultra-marathons, or digging into some new research or trainings to find new wells to both grow myself and to help my amazing clients to grow too. I am a certified yoga teacher and have experience as a fitness instructor and high school cross country and hockey coach. While working in high schools, I taught Sexual and Family Education as well as Yoga and Stress Management. I have also spent time as a global tour guide as well as teaching yoga at a yoga retreat in Thailand. I have lived in Australia, spent time in a small village in Nicaragua, climbed Mt. Doom (Lord of the Rings fans?!) in New Zealand and have found plenty of other shenanigans along the way. Feel free to ask me about them! Let’s work together to create a new narrative for your life and get you back on the path you were always meant to be on. - - - - - I am a Second Wind Fund Therapist.
