Branden is trained in treating trauma and addictions through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, the EMDR International Association, as well as experienced in 12-step recovery work He seeks to treat each client with what therapy model best suits them and their needs, including EMDR, IFS, Mindfulness, DBT & Talk therapy, among others. Branden has been trained through the Gottman Institute, a research-based approach to helping relationships overcome conflict, grow in intimacy, and develop the skills for healthy relationships. He has extensive experience working with teenagers as well, from his years as an Area Director in YoungLife to his time as a therapist at Capstone Treatment Center, as well as being a current clinician for the adolescent program at Three Oaks Behavioral Health Center in Ridgeland, MS. In addition to this, he teaches courses on group counseling and addictions at Reformed Theological Seminary. Branden started Red River Counseling in 2018 with the mission to help others recover from addiction, heal from trauma, and be empowered to live life to the full.
