Welcome! I am a psychologist in private practice since 2011, working with individual children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of issues. I specialize in treating OCD across the lifespan, as well as treating anxiety and depression. I'd love to learn more about your goals and see if I would be a good fit to work with you or your loved one, so please feel free to reach out with a call or message through the contact form. The "boss" in our heads uses different tricks, even when it seems like it might be trying to help you. It's not your fault, it's a pro at this. Do these sound familiar?: "you should/need to __" or "what if __?", or "it won't matter if you __." We can work on these and other tricky factors to help you become more aware of options (even when it feels like there are none) and feel like you can boss-back that self-talk. I believe in identifying the problem (not a problem-person), setting goals, and working together with you, your child/adolescent, or your family to achieve those goals. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to help clients avoid placing negative labels on themselves, and instead help them identify and change their actions, thoughts, and feelings in safe and constructive ways. I also employ psychodynamic techniques to help clients practice increasing their awareness in the present moment - how to recognize "triggers" and associated feelings, and how to choose a response that is authentic and healthy. Bringing all family members into therapy periodically allows a chance for your child or teenager to share new tools and practice these skills together with you. I have recently applied and have been granted a certification through the PSYPACT Commission: Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT). PSYPACT is an interstate compact which allows applying psychologists permission to practice telepsychology under their home-state license, across state lines into PSYPACT participating states. At this time, there are 33 states/commonwealths with more being added. For more information, please visit www.psypact.org In my free time, I enjoy playing or watching sports (especially soccer, skiing, baseball, and football), tabletop and video games, hiking, and podcasts.
