My legal name is Kristi Ebsen (she/her) and I am the owner of Bobbi Ebsen Psychotherapy. I provide mental health counseling services, both in-person and telehealth to ages 12 years old and up. I specialize in EMDR & Touchstone Therapy. I am available for providing workshops on: stress management, PTSD, warning signs for parents when their kids may need counseling, trauma, EMDR and other mental health topics. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in the states of Michigan & California. graduating from the University of Michigan (2003). I completed my EMDR training from the gold standard of training at the EMDR Institute in Watsonville, California the original institute started by the founder of EMDR, Francine Shapiro, PhD. I am a Wilderness First Responder, and lead forest therapy hikes on the weekend. I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Dominican Republic 95-98), a Returned Crisis Corps Volunteer (Sri Lanka summer of 2006), a Teacher Certified Yoga Instructor (Sivananda Yoga Ashram 2005), completed in-depth meditation training – 1 ½ years of training toward a Buddhist priest program while living in a Buddhist temple for 3+ years (Zen Buddhist Temple in Ann Arbor, Michigan). Currently, learning about Native American tools and beliefs, I try and learn from the elders and incorporate what I learn into my practice, when I can. I am attending my first Vision Quest in November 2023 through the Rites of Passages established in 1977 Michael Bodkin. I have worked in various counseling settings, with people from diverse backgrounds with all kinds of struggles. Personally, my childhood was spent growing up on a farm in a poor, alcoholic, violent, uneducated family system on the plains of Nebraska. I found the effectiveness of psychotherapy at 18 yo and wanted to become one. My struggles and experiences have really made me the powerful therapist I am today. I am a down to earth, funny, warm personality, who is easy to connect with. Thank you for your time in reading my story and feel free to contact me at: 734-223-6014.
