People often say they don't "need" therapy, and as someone who grew up in a time and place where mental health wasn't really a "hot topic", I get that. But as a clinician, I also believe that even if you don't "need" therapy, that doesn't mean you can't benefit from it. I, too, would have once said I don't "need" therapy, but as stressful as life can get, I'm glad I went, and still go. Life can be exhausting, so my goal for therapy is to make it the least stressful part of your week. I'm a firm believer that if therapy feels like an additional stressor to your life, then it's counterproductive. As a result, my "clinical style" reflects my personality, which means you should expect a relaxed, informal, and transparent conversation. If you're looking for the stereotypical "traditional therapist", the kind that you see portrayed on TV, wearing a suit and sitting on a couch, that isn't me. I don't even own a suit. However, if that is what you're looking for, I'm more than happy to help you find one! But, if you're okay with sarcasm, humor, and a therapist with social anxiety, we'll work well together! Whether for mental health support or sports/human performance support, I look forward to working with you.
