Introduction

I am so glad you’re here. I understand how daunting it can be to take steps towards healing. Perhaps you feel misunderstood by the people around you. Or perhaps you are accustomed to confronting problems alone, without the help of others. Whatever you might be facing, I am here to assure you that you are not alone. I am honored to walk alongside you as you step outside of your comfort zone to embark on your journey to growth and self-discovery. My approach to therapy is, first and foremost, rooted in warmth and compassion. I strive to create a space where you are able to be your authentic self and explore the nooks and crannies of your internal world. I aim to spark curiosity in our sessions as you unpack the various experiences, cultural values, and societal norms that have shaped you and your belief systems. Gaining self-awareness and insight allows us to recognize our strengths and take conscious steps towards the life we envision. If you are seeking a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your inner world, I will be there to hold and support every part of you as we put the pieces together. I am passionate about working with individuals through issues related to past traumas (whether “big” or “small”). I understand the hurt, confusion, anger, and disbelief that overwhelms you when you experience something acutely painful. Traumatic experiences can leave you lingering in a dark spiral that seems never-ending. In our time together, I will help guide you towards different perspectives that can shine light through the darkness you have been feeling stuck in. We will work as a team to explore and alter the disempowering stories that no longer serve you. As we move through the world, we often hold different identities that are constantly changing. Having to reconcile with the contrasting values, opinions, and expectations that come with living with multiple cultures can be confusing and painful. My personal experience of being 2nd-generation Chinese-American has allowed me to understand that it often feels like we are living in two worlds. As your therapist, I can help you re-discover and make peace with the parts of yourself that were overlooked and perhaps pushed away. In working together, you can begin to redefine your identity in ways that feel empowering and authentic. Whatever it may be, you are not alone in this journey. I offer in-person and telehealth services for children, teens, adults, and couples.
