Introduction

I am a Kentucky state Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) specializing in trauma recovery including dissociative disorders. I have been in private practice for twenty-five years and currently work with adult individuals on dissociation and trauma, depression, anxiety, codependency, and spiritual questions. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am also a Board-Certified Professional Christian Counselor (BCPCC) for those interested in faith-based counseling. My approach to counseling is holistic and goal-oriented. I counsel from the perspective that we are all wounded throughout our lives either intentionally or unintentionally by loved ones and/or by life's circumstances. These wounds manifest as emotional turmoil, spiritual emptiness, and neurological changes in the brain. As a result, people may think and behave in ways that either inflict further injury on themselves and/or others or isolate themselves from relationships that can help them with healing. Sessions are focused on setting and working on goals for the purpose of healing those wounds. During an initial session, I will review your intake information with you as well as what you can expect from the counseling experience. I will discuss with you what concerns and issues have motivated you to come and assist you in determining what goals you would like to accomplish in upcoming sessions. I use multiple therapeutic modalities including EMDR, Flash, Cognitive-Behavioral, Gestalt, Psycho-dynamic, and Client-Centered. I am also experienced in the use of Scripture and prayer for those interested in Christian-based counseling.
