Growing up, therapy seemed taboo and only for weak people. How does talking to someone actually help me with my depression and anxiety? And why can't I figure it out on my own? However as I've also gone to therapy, I've discovered that it takes courage and intentionality. Sometimes having someone to talk to, who will listen to all I have to say, makes all the difference. The process of change and better understanding of yourself through therapy can be difficult but I believe it is worth it. You are strong. There is hope. I believe that every person has a unique story. It would be an honor to walk alongside you through life, whether you find yourself in the ups or the downs. My approach in counseling is centered on Person Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I desire to create an environment where you can be an active participant in your therapy. My specialities include anxiety, depression, grief, and life changes. Some fun and random things about me, I am a graduate student at Dallas Theological Seminary. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in psychology. I've ran 2 half marathons and 1 marathon. I love running, eating all kinds of yummy food, watching crime shows, traveling to see beautiful creation, spending time with friends and talking about life. Whether you are feeling hopeless, anxious with life or just need someone to talk with, I would love to sit with you.
