As a clinical social worker, I provide mental health care to adults experiencing anxiety and depression and helping people affected by chronic or acute illness. I have worked extensively with cancer patients, both during and after treatment, and helped them to cope and transition to survivorship after treatment has ended. I also enjoy working with adults who are experiencing obstacles to the life that they want to be living. This may be an illness, relationship problems, work stress/burnout, or family problems. I have a compassionate approach using Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Compassion-Focused techniques to help clients with their problematic thoughts as well as the embodied feelings that clients may be experiencing. I believe whole-heartedly that having problems is part of the normal human condition and that we can best heal in collaboration with a compassionate therapeutic presence.
