Introduction

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in San Clemente, California. I'm passionate about helping couples and individuals find more peace and satisfaction in their relationships and personal lives. I utilize The Gottman Method to help COUPLES improve their communication skills, manage conflict, and learn how to better love and support each other. Learn more below. I utilize Prepare/Enrich and The Gottman Method with PRE-MARITAL COUPLES seeking a strong foundation for a happy, healthy, loving, long-lasting relationship. Learn more below. I provide individual psychotherapy, including EMDR, to help INDIVIDUALS overcome issues from their past that may interfere with their current relationships and happiness. Learn more below. For COUPLES: Do you want your relationship to work, but feel frustrated about communication? Perhaps your conversations end in a misunderstanding, or an argument with hurt feelings, and no resolution. You might avoid difficult topics altogether, and feel that your partner doesn't really know you. Problems can't even be discussed, let alone solved. Maybe you worry about growing apart and leading separate lives, or you already feel lonely and disconnected from your partner. Relationships can be challenging. It's common for couples to struggle with these things. Couples tend to wait too long before seeking help, but counseling can really make a difference. Imagine you found better ways to express yourselves and respond to each other, felt safe to discuss anything, and really understood each other. Not only can you manage conflict more easily, you are actually best friends, supporting each other and achieving your goals and dreams together. I work collaboratively with couples to create goals, and use research-based therapies and practical exercises to help couples improve their communication and learn the habits for healthier, more loving, long-lasting relationships. For PRE-MARITAL COUNSELING: Are you excited about getting married, but also a little nervous? Are there things you want to talk about with your partner, but you feel unsure about how to approach certain topics? It’s normal to have pre-wedding stress and jitters, and to have some anxiety about what life will be like after you tie the knot. Not only do you want a beautiful wedding, you want to have a happy life together. You put a lot of effort into planning that perfect day, and it’s just the beginning. Couples can have problems with arguing or growing apart. You want a great marriage that’s going to last. I love helping couples learn how to build a strong foundation for a healthy, loving relationship. As a Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I can help you get those anxiety provoking conversations started. I also draw from the research-based Gottman Method to help couples learn the principles and skills that lead to a harmonious and long-lasting relationship. We start with a comprehensive assessment of your strengths and growth areas, and then use the results to choose the best practical exercises for you and your partner to learn and practice those healthy relationship skills. Premarital counseling can take place before or after your wedding, and is usually completed in 5-10 sessions. For INDIVIDUALS: Have you been struggling and confused about why you feel, think and act the way you do? Maybe you suspect, or you know, that there are things from your past that are interfering with your life and relationships today. You'd like to change things, but you just don’t know how, and you’re ready to reach out for help. Would you like to gain a better understanding of yourself and emotions, and learn relationship skills that can help you make better decisions about how to respond to life and the people around you? I work collaboratively with my clients, and use a combination of talk therapy, relationship skills training, and EMDR therapy to help my clients understand themselves better with compassion, overcome issues from their past, reduce emotional distress, improve thoughts, feelings and beliefs, gain more effective relationship skills, and move forward into a better version of self, life and relationships. Good Faith Estimate Notice You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800- 985-3059.
