Hi! I'm Beth Cooney. I am a licensed social worker and a board approved clinical supervisor. Everyone has times in their life when they could really benefit from therapy. Taking the first step can be hard but it will help you feel so much better. I am passionate about helping my clients live a happy life and becoming their best self. Many people come to therapy because they feel stuck. I offer a warm and supportive environment to help my clients through their toughest times. I work with children, adolescents and adults struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, grief and loss. I help clients with adjustment problems, relationship difficulties and life transitions. I work with clients on identifying and developing healthy ways to deal with stress. My goal is to have clients learn ways to calm themselves in times of heightened stress, feel better inside and eliminate negative thinking patterns. I use play therapy when working with young children. I work part time as the Director of Evidence Based Practice for a program with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network called Project Fleur-de-lis. I have been working in private practice since 2008. I use evidence-based interventions in working with my clients. I have extensive training in providing supportive counseling for children and adults experiencing anxiety, depression and adjustment difficulties. Working with people to improve their mental health is my passion!
