Introduction

I am a trauma informed bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I earned my Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A & M University- Central Texas, and my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University. I retired from the United States Army after serving our country for 21 years and I enjoy working with the military community. I have over 18 years of experience working in the mental health and social services field. I have worked in various mental health settings in both the military and civilian communities. These settings include inpatient, outpatient, in-home and community mental health. I have also worked at a Children’s Advocacy Center for child victims of sexual/physical abuse, as both a therapist and forensic interviewer. I specialize in trauma/PTSD with children, teens and adults. I am certified in Child Centered Play Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and I am also a Certified Clinical Sand Tray Therapist. I come to work as a therapist with compassion, warmth, humor, and honesty. I invite you to reach out when you are ready to take the first steps towards healing for a better tomorrow. Si su hija, hijo, familia ó usted necesita ayuda de una terapeuta que habla español, por favor comuníquese conmigo. “Trauma creates change you don’t choose.
