Introduction
Thank you for considering me as a potential counselor! Seeking counseling is not always an easy decision for us to make and might feel a little scary. The challenges that life presents us are often what drives us to get help, but counseling also offers us the potential for tremendous personal growth. In my view, life’s hardships (a.k.a. “growth experiences”) may have beautiful outcomes, but the growing process itself can be slightly uncomfortable (or more than slightly!). I believe like most other creatures in nature we are more likely to blossom if we are in an environment that provides us with the elements we need to grow. In my opinion, a strong therapeutic relationship makes our healing journey easier. I do my best to be someone that is easy to relate to by being open-minded, understanding, and empathetic. My approach to counseling is primarily client-centered, meaning I believe that you are the expert in your life and that you should determine what you want to work on. My role is to walk beside you along your path, empower you to find your own internal strength, and be present with you as you go through your own healing.
