Introduction

I'm pleased to introduce myself and excited you wanted to learn more about me. I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to serve others while they navigate their journey through life. My role here is to help make a change in your everyday life. Life has a way of getting out of control. Maybe you worry about your friends or family every day, wondering where you belong, or having feelings of not fitting in. You often think, “Who am I?" or "What do I want to get out of life?" You might find yourself trying to navigate a sense of belonging but constantly get knocked down or discouraged repeatedly. Having control over your life and making sense of your emotions, thoughts, and reactions are things you want so badly. Unfortunately, you have no idea where even to begin. Unfortunately, gaining control can be challenging and overwhelming. It can be easy to numb yourself to these troubles and avoid the uncomfortable feelings that come with confrontation. Putting yourself first can be daunting. We can quickly put ourselves on autopilot and attempt to ignore the underlying concerns. To make this experience positive and approachable, I create a comfortable, uplifting atmosphere through humor, validation, and unconditional positive regard. My goal is to help you gain control. My therapeutic approach is always, first and foremost, person-centered. I utilize positive psychology to help you build on your strengths and current skills, focusing on self-development, growth, and responsibility. Building lifelong solutions rather than trying to solve single concerns is essential. The idea is to look for exceptions to the problem and add to previous solutions to shift the current thoughts, behaviors, and interactions to a more desired well-being. Respect, honesty, compassion, responsibility, and self-discipline are character traits I internalized while growing up, and they continue to be valued I practice in the therapeutic process. They are essential in building the therapeutic alliance and encouraging us to attend each session wholly and authentically. Together, we will construct solutions for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining behavior change. Gaining knowledge to help others is my passion. I completed my undergraduate degree from Concordia University, St. Paul, in 2018 and my graduate program through Saint Mary's University in 2023. Currently, I am a clinical trainee who is working towards licensure as a professional clinical counselor. After completing my internship with Manes For Change, I was thrilled when they hired me full-time upon graduation. Before my time with Manes For Change, I worked as a mental health practitioner for several years, teaching skills in-home to children and their families. I have a passion for learning, and continuing my education is a priority so I can keep supporting the needs of my clients in the best possible way. Here are some Fun Facts. Outside the office, I invest free time with my friends, family, and pets. I live on a hobby farm with four horses and three cats. For self-care, I enjoy spending time with mother nature or relaxing with a good book. I often travel the north metro with my horses in the summertime, competing at local barrel races. Horses have always been a huge part of my life, and I am excited to share my passion with others.
