Introduction

Hello! A little about me: I am a native of Chandler and received my Masters in Counseling from Northern Arizona University in 2003. I specialize in helping couples deepen their emotional intimacy to create a safe and secure attachment. I am fully trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples as well as trauma informed care for individuals. I am certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a highly effective trauma modality that also works wonders for anxiety and depression. I also incorporate knowledge from trauma trainings for EFT and EMDR, allowing a well rounded trauma informed approach. My personal approach to therapy is that as human beings we are biologically wired to connect. We are not meant to be solitary creatures and do best when we have deep connections with the people most important to us. When our foundation with our partner is fractured or disconnected, we feel distress that can lead to anxiety and depression, resentment, anger and conflict. Healing this connection improves our overall health and well-being, which is also crucial for healing from the majority of traumas, addictions, and relationship issues you might experience in life. Learning to identify our patterns of conflict as well as understanding our own attachment styles and how they came to be is crucial in being able to change the way we respond when the going gets tough. We need this awareness and the tools of attachment based communication methods to help us change our patterns, provide safety in vulnerability, and learn to thrive off the emotional connection we have with our partner. When I'm not working as a therapist, I am "Momming" to my five children. They are a joy in my life and growing up way too quickly. I also enjoy playing a variety of racquet sports but most often tennis. My happy place is camping in the pines of the rim country of Arizona and on the beach in Rocky Point. I enjoy traveling alone with my husband of 20+ years to various scuba diving destinations, and with our children we also enjoy snow skiing, boating, and experiencing other parts of the country together any chance the opportunity arises. I am active in my religious faith and find that faith is a powerful tool for healing when incorporated into therapy and trauma work. I serve the Chandler/Gilbert/Queen Creek area of the Phoenix Valley. I am currently Telehealth only but I will offer in person appointments beginning January 2025!
