Introduction

Hello! My name is Asmeret Hagos, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in the Southern California region. As a therapist, I like to collaboratively work with each and every one of my clients by maintaining compassion and upholding a multi-cultural posture in elevating the individual’s strength and narrative. I believe that you have all the power and love within you to heal the wounds and guide you through life's journey. My approach to therapy is a holistic and integrative model in which I take the whole person into consideration, including your thoughts, feelings, behavior, biology, family, culture, spiritual beliefs, and environment. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in reaching the expected outcome. I work with with children and teens (between 6-18 years of age), young adults, and individuals undergoing life transitions and relational issues. My specialty includes anxiety, coping skills, cultural stress, depression, grief, job stress, life transitions, mood disorders, parenting, racial identity, relationship issues, self-esteem, spiritual struggles, anxiety, and stress. I work with clients to find confidence by navigating barriers in life and establishing skills such as positive communication, mindfulness, and re-framing practices in order for them to reach a place of self-acceptance and growth. My communication style is that I am calm and empathic. I also communicate with compassion and honesty. My style is warm and non-judgmental, fostering a safe space for open dialogue. I listen intently to understand your unique experiences and collaborate with you to identify meaningful solutions. Through genuine caring and professional support, I aim to empower you on your healing journey. I earned a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology and have over a decade of therapy experience. This journey has proven to me that we can not only recover from depression, trauma, anxiety, stress, self-doubts, unhealthy relationships, and other sufferings, but also go beyond them to be confident, content, happy, and healthy in most aspects of our lives. I believe you have the power inside of you to heal and the fact you took this first step to seek counseling is an accomplishment. My goal is to collaboratively work together as we go through your journey and provide guidance through the process. In addition I would like to help you access your inner beauty, power, experience less emotional pain and stress, overcome obstacles in your path, and ultimately achieve confidence, contentment, happiness, and health in your life. I believe this is possible if you believe it and trust the therapeutic process.
