Ashton has always been a passionately curious person with a deep desire to help others in the midst of their pain. It wasn’t until she spent years in a previous marketing career that she found herself feeling disconnected from herself and her values. Her personal experience with therapy led her to dismantle limiting beliefs and heal from wounds of her past. Her passion is to help others connect with their authentic self and reclaim meaning. Ashton enjoys helping individuals and couples gain a greater sense of peace, inner freedom, and cultivate a deeper connection with self and others. She works with individuals struggling with PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity/low self-esteem, perfectionism, and life transitions. Her main specialties include working with insidious trauma that may not be obvious to the outside observer – relational & attachment trauma, narcissistic abuse, and childhood emotional neglect. Ashton also works with couples who long for deeper connection and intimacy but find themselves stuck in negative cycles which prevents them from finding healthy ways to communicate and relate to one another. Ashton welcomes clients to view their life experiences through the lens of attachment, meaning she not only focuses on behavior change and external symptoms but also the underlying reasons of the impact of trauma and attachment injuries in their lives and relationships. She incorporates a variety of modalities to explore and meet the needs of each specific client by integrating insights and analyzing patterns, paired with embodied styles of processing to empower clients to reach a deeper level of functioning and wholeness. This includes Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Brainspotting, and Experiential techniques. Ashton also believes in equipping client’s with practical tools to utilize in daily life where this work matters most.
