I have worked in the mental health field since 2008 in various capacities. I am a Registered Play Therapist and a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional that is licensed in Virginia. I am not limited to working with children and adolescents though, as I also have experience working with adults (18-50). My approach contains trauma informed counseling, an open and non-judgmental space where my clients’ needs are the focus of treatment. My combination of clinical, empathetic, and relational perceptions creates a powerful dynamic that encourages growth and empowerment for my clients. In session, I utilize a variety of clinical approaches including: Trauma Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and I am finishing my consolation hours to become certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I have also completed Dan Allender’s trauma focused training certification in Narrative Therapy (NFTC).
