If you are the parent of a newly diagnosed child, you may feel overwhelmed and unsure about where to start. Your child may struggle to cooperate with life's daily demands. It may be tough for your little one to communicate their needs. It might be challenging to help your child regulate their emotions when things do not go their way. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) committed to helping parents understand, connect and develop balanced relationships with their children. My practice utilizes the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), focusing on early childhood development, primarily with children ages 1-6 years old. I work with neurodiverse learners, including children with ASD, ADHD and other unique developmental abilities. I have been providing ABA therapy for nine years. I have had the pleasure of working with children and families for over ten years. I absolutely love what I do! I offer virtual and in-home parent coaching and support. During my parent coaching sessions, I provide education on how to teach, reinforce and maintain functional skills that will replace your child’s challenging behaviors caused by flexibility and communication struggles. We may also target behaviors that stem from rigidity with demands, restrictive play skills and difficulties with tolerating denied requests such as waiting or being told “no”. I also offer local, home-based 1-1 ABA therapy programs provided directly by a BCBA. These programs utilize naturalistic interventions, incidental teaching, pivotal response training, and functional communication training. After an initial assessment, goals are selected to help your child develop communication, independence, self-regulation and social emotional skills. My sessions are individualized, fun and creative! My goal is to keep your child happy, relaxed and engaged while making data-based program decisions to work towards our identified objectives. I welcome you to reach out to me for an initial consult or to learn more about how I can help you at 305- 908-4994 or ashley@mindfulbehaviorconnections.com.
