Welcome! I'm Ashley Peoples, a Marriage and Family Therapist. I enjoy working with various clients, including couples, individuals (12+) and families. I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and integrate my knowledge of Attachment Theory and trauma-informed practices to support clients in their healing journey. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, or life transitions, I offer a compassionate, collaborative approach to help you explore and process your experiences. My passion for therapy began at a young age, as I always felt destined to help others. For years, my family and I witnessed my brother struggle with addiction. We became familiar with the strenuous cycle of addiction, recovery and relapse. In this, I saw not only how this process affected him, but our entire family too. From the influence of my beloved brother, I quickly knew I wanted to help others who were enduring the same kind of pain we were. My journey in Psychology began in 2016 at Southeastern University. During my undergraduate studies, I volunteered at a local non-profit, where I served as a residential counselor at an in-patient facility. There, I gained experience working with clients exhibiting symptoms of various mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, addiction and more. While this opportunity was enriching, it underscored the crucial role loved ones play in a client's recovery, leading me to explore systemic therapy. Subsequently, I pursued my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. My therapy services offer a space for meaningful transformation, guiding clients on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I specialize in working with couples navigating relational conflict and intimacy concerns, as well as individuals facing challenges such as depression or trauma rooted in relationships or family dynamics. In our early sessions, we’ll dive deep into the core issues, collaboratively developing a personalized plan to address your needs and goals. Many clients begin to experience relief and a sense of progress after just a few sessions, with continued improvement as we move forward together. If this sounds like something you're interested in, please reach out! I am happy to offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit. Do you accept my insurance? Due to the limitations associated with insurance companies, I am not an in-network provider. However, as a private pay clinician, I can be billed as an out-of-network provider. I am happy to provide the necessary documentation to assist you in filing for reimbursement. When utilizing out-of-network benefits for therapy, the cost will first apply to your deductible (if applicable). Afterward, you may start receiving reimbursements directly from your insurance company. Clients are required to pay for appointments at the time of service, and I will provide you with a detailed receipt, known as a “superbill,” each month. This superbill can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. Many individuals are unaware that they may have out-of-network benefits available for therapy. I recommend contacting your insurance company before our initial appointment to confirm your coverage. You can inquire, “What is my out-of-network coverage for therapy with an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family therapist?” Typically, clients see reimbursement rates of 50% or more. I accept payments through all major credit cards and HSA/FSA cards.
