Ashley Or graduated in 2017 from Dallas Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in Biblical Counseling. Ashley is level three trained in Gottman Method Marital Therapy and has a passion for healthy marriages. The Gottman method is a comprehensive, research based and structured approach toward marriage therapy. In the confusion that ongoing conflict brings in marriage, this approach can provide some clarity and direction for clients. Ashley’s experience of being married into Asian culture and being a pastor’s wife also provide her with unique insight on cross-cultural marriages and the joys and struggles that come with the ministry. Her experience as a mother of three young boys and with postpartum anxiety has led to a passion for women’s health. Ashley has spoken at a number of MOPS groups throughout DFW and is an advocate for women to focus on their own self care in order to care the best for those around them. Ashley’s eclectic approach combines CBT and attachment theory, this allows clients to understand their narratives and gain the tools to shape them. Ashley believes therapy is primarily a relationship and depends on finding someone who not only has professional expertise but demonstrates warmth, authenticity, empathy, and respect. It is Ashley’s goal to make the therapy office a place where the client can feel the freedom to be known and unconditionally accepted. In her free time, she loves to travel to new places, eat at hole-in-the-wall restaurants or just cuddle up in overstuffed chairs and read.
